How it works
How a Remember Me Gem is made
Creating cremation jewelry with a loved one’s ashes is personal. We make the process clear and careful—from choosing your gem to receiving it back in your hands.

Create your gem
Begin in the Remember Me Gems Studio. Choose a natural gemstone, shape, symbol, and initials for the person you are honoring. Your symbol is engraved on one side; their initials are engraved on the other. You do not need to have every detail decided before you begin. Take your time—there is no rush. We will guide you every step of the way.

We send you a kit
Once your order is placed, we send a small ash collection kit labeled with your loved one’s name and your order number. Inside are a pouch, a small funnel, clear instructions, and a prepaid padded return envelope. You only need to send a small portion of the ashes. Our instructions explain exactly what to send, and any ashes we do not use are returned to you with your finished gem.
Send them back to us
When you are ready, seal the prepaid return envelope and place it in the mail. The kit includes clear instructions, so you know exactly what to do. If anything feels unclear, reach out—we are here to help.

Our family gets to work
Once your kit arrives, our family begins making your gem. We shape the stone by hand, engrave your chosen symbol and initials, and inlay a small amount of ashes into the engraving with resin. The resin cures and seals the inlay into the stone. Each custom cremation jewelry piece is made one at a time. Yours will be too.

Your gem comes home
Your finished Remember Me Gem is shipped within ten to twelve business days after we receive the ashes. It arrives carefully packaged and ready to wear, carry, or hold. Any ashes we did not use are returned to you with your finished gem.
